The second group...
Except for the white porcelain duo, these guys were all raku fired. The imprinted lace technique is the same as the blue ones I showed you last week. I love how every piece fired in raku is a gamble. You never know where the cracks will be or what colors will emerge. I have made some very beautiful mistakes.

So beautiful!! You make me want to take a class.
ReplyDeletei'm really loving the pattern in the last photo and the unfinished edges are perfect!
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous. Works of art for sure!
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful pieces and I love seeing them in this beautiful shop. More, more, please!!!
ReplyDeleteAnne
They're gorgeous, and I love how they look togehter with the pale tabletop and the old books - especially the lace patterned ones. I also like the white duo, they remind me of sea shells.
ReplyDeleteUrsula, I would really encourage you to take a class..especially if it isn't the medium you specialize in. I found it really freeing when I began. I was so accustomed to working with textiles that I was able to be involved in the process more than the result..which was nice, and rare. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteJosephine, Andy and Anne, Thank you so much for letting me know you like the pieces, It really is wonderful to have this kind of feedback....very encouraging.
Deco Detective, If I could transport that whole tabletop back to my house I would be a very happy woman! The furniture in the shop is so beautiful, it's quite exciting to see the bowls blend with the antiques. Thank you for visiting the site and repeatedly making such nice comments.
haha, now two of them are mine!! surprise :-) xo
ReplyDeleteRiley they are gorgeous! your first photographs made me re-visit an idea i'd had some time ago. to take pottery classes. I signed up monday - to now see more of your work is most inspirational!
